Ask objectively whether only automated processing was involved in the decision.
Step by step: This is how you proceed
- Request information about automated decisions, including, where appropriate, meaningful information about the logic involved.
- Distinguish automated support from fully automated decisions.
- Save rejection and response from bank.
- If the legal situation is disputed, seek specialized advice.
What documents do you need?
Rejection letter, application, response to the request for information. Only send sensitive documents via a secure, official channel and only when actually necessary.
When should I act?
Requests can be made after rejection; If in doubt, first clarify the nature of the decision.
This limit is important
Not every software-supported credit check is automatically an exclusively automated decision according to Art. 22.

Private technical form preparation is only a voluntary additional service, not a prerequisite for exercising your rights.
According to the recommendation of the Austrian data protection authority, you should first request information and, if necessary, only then separately request correction or deletion. In principle, a request for information must be responded to within one month; a legally permissible extension is possible.
