Check which credit agency your bank or provider actually used.
Step by step: This is how you proceed
- Start with a data source request from the rejecting body.
- If appropriate, obtain the separate free Art. 15 information.
- Check different data statuses and, if necessary, different messages.
- Please direct correction requests to the responsible data processor.
What documents do you need?
Answers from the bank, KSV and CRIF; Invoices or proof of completion. Only send sensitive documents via a secure, official channel and only when actually necessary.
When should I act?
If there is contradictory information, write to each provider with a specific reference.
This limit is important
Do not automatically equate KSV and CRIF data and do not claim a central “delete button”.
Free help outside DATENCHECK
If you suspect a breach of your data protection rights, the Austrian Data Protection Authority explains the complaints process. Contacting the credit bureau concerned first is usually appropriate.

What can I do myself for free?
The statutory information and other rights of those affected can generally be exercised without DATA CHECK. The Austrian data protection authority offers samples that can be used free of charge. Private technical form preparation is only a voluntary additional service, not a prerequisite for exercising your rights.
According to the recommendation of the Austrian data protection authority, you should first request information and, if necessary, only then separately request correction or deletion. In principle, a request for information must be responded to within one month; a legally permissible extension is possible.
Frequent question
Is the information from a single credit agency enough?
